Manual heating and air conditioning

The heating and cooling system can be controlled manually by pushing switches other than the AUTO button. In this case, the system works sequentially according to the order of buttons selected.

When pressing any button except the AUTO button whilst using automatic operation, the functions not selected will be controlled automatically.

  1. Start the engine.

  2. Set the mode to the desired position.

To improve the effectiveness of heating and cooling, select the mode according to the following:

    • Heating:

    • Cooling:

  3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.

  4. Set the air intake control to outside (fresh) air position.

  5. Set the blower speed control to the desired speed.

  6. If air conditioning is desired, turn on the air conditioning system.

  7. Press the AUTO button to convert to full automatic control of the system.

When starting the vehicle in cold weather using manual temperature control, operate the system in the following method to improve heating.

  • Turn off or lower the blower, immediately after starting the engine.

  • Allow the engine to warm up during this time since the air flow from the heater is still cold.

  • After a few minutes of engine warm up, turn on or set the blower to a higher level and adjust the temperature setting to hot.

Air intake control

Recirculation mode

WL_RecirculationModeLamp

When Recirculation mode is selected, air from the passenger compartment is recirculated through the system and heated or cooled according to the function selected.

Outside (fresh) mode

WL_AirconAirIntakeButton

When Outside (fresh) mode is selected, air enters the vehicle from outside and is heated or cooled according to the function selected.

Operating the system primarily in Outside (fresh) mode is recommended. Use Recirculation mode temporarily only when needed.

Prolonged operation of the heating in Recirculation mode and without the A/C ON can cause fogging of the windscreen.

In addition, prolonged use of the A/C ON in Recirculation mode may result in excessively dry, dehumidified air in the cabin and may promote formation of musty vent odour due to stagnant air.

  • Continued use of the climate control system operation in Recirculation mode for a prolonged period of time may cause drowsiness to the occupants in the cabin. This may lead to loss of vehicle control which may lead to an accident.

  • Continued use of the climate control system operation in Recirculation mode with the A/C OFF may allow humidity to increase inside the cabin. This may cause condensation to accumulate on the windscreen and obscure visibility.

  • Do not sleep in your vehicle or remain parked in your vehicle with the windows up and either the heater or the air conditioning ON for prolonged periods of time. Doing so may increase the levels of carbon dioxide in the cabin which may lead to serious injury or death.

Blower speed control

2C_Airconwind

The blower speed can be set as desired by pressing the blower speed control switch.

More air is delivered with higher blower speeds.

Pressing the OFF button turns off the blower.

For better sound quality, blower speed may automatically slow down for a couple of minutes when you activate voice recognition or hands free.

Operating the blower when the Engine Start/Stop button is in the ON position could cause the battery to discharge.
